Brother Balfe has been teaching seminary for 28 years. He loves baseball, tacos, chocolate, and the band U2. His hobbies include DATE NIGHT and running in the mountains. Might be famous for often testifying: “I wouldn’t dare live a day of my life without reading the Book of Mormon!”
Sister Horrocks has worked for Corner Canyon Seminary for three years. She has been married for 27 years. She and her husband have four children—one daughter and three sons—as well as two beloved dogs. She is a lifelong dancer, she has performed professionally and even took part in the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Olympics. She has owned a dance studio and served as a drill team coach. As a family, they enjoy hiking, camping, and going on road trips. They love going out for ice cream and celebrating all of life’s accomplishments together.
Sis reading is originally from Las Vegas. Met her hot husband Colton at byu. They have four wonderful children. They love all things mountains - biking, skiing, hiking, boating…as well as byu sports and the Utah Jazz!!

With a heart full of service and a wicked sense of humor, Brother Curtis can be found on weekends supporting religious freedom in the Army National Guard; on the weekdays you’ll find him rocking the seminary teaching game for a mind-blowing 15 years! He’s a rockstar family man, an adventure-loving teacher, and a survivor of epic hurricanes. Amelia Kessler is a Seminary Teacher who loves spending her days teaching the greatest generation about Jesus Christ. She’s been in the classroom for a year and a half and previously worked for two years with the FSY program. Before stepping into full-time religious education, Amelia worked in digital marketing and freelance web design, from beginning designs to final video, photo and content production, she did it all! Amelia served her mission in Wisconsin and came back with a full-blown cheese obsession, an undying love for the Green Bay Packers, and a soft spot for Midwestern charm. Outside the classroom, Amelia is usually on the pickleball court, quoting movies, planning her next Disney trip, or catering to the whims of her dog Otis—who 100% runs the house. She also has an actual Diet Coke addiction and isn’t even trying to quit. She loves her job and feels honored at any chance she gets to testify of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Paige Tolk is married to Brendan Tolk and loves sharing life’s adventures with him. A Las Vegas native and proud BYU graduate, she has a deep love for music and enjoys playing the piano—especially her favorite Taylor Swift songs. When she’s not working, she can often be found relaxing in the hot tub or curled up with a good murder mystery novel. Paige Tolk I passionate about travel and new experiences. She dreams of exploring the vibrant streets of India and the sacred history of Jerusalem.
Brother Sam Cooper is an actor who loves to perform whenever he gets the chance. He has appeared in several productions at Hale Centre Theatre and in a few local films. He and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains or camping, and they love playing disc golf, pickleball, Spikeball, and volleyball. He is currently attending Utah State University, majoring in Psychology, and is excited to be at Corner Canyon High School this coming year.
Sister Marsh was born in High River, Alberta, Canada, spent several years in Irvine, California, and grew up in Bountiful, Utah. She attended Brigham Young University, married her best friend Jim, and together they have four incredible children—their oldest is currently serving a mission in Viña del Mar, Chile 🇨🇱. She is happiest when she is outdoors—running, biking, or hiking—and also enjoys cooking, reading good books, and savoring chocolate chip cookies. Above all, she loves Jesus Christ and His gospel with her whole heart. Teaching seminary and learning alongside teenagers is one of her greatest joys.
Mikayla Fairchild is from Lehi, Utah, where she has lived for more than 12 years. She comes from a family of six—her parents, two older brothers, and a younger sister—and has a dog. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, visiting the temple, country dancing, cooking, and spending time with friends.
Brother Smith has been teaching Seminary since 2019 and feels incredibly blessed to help youth strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ. Before teaching, he worked as an athletic trainer with BYU Football, interned with Real Salt Lake, and worked with the Barça Academy. He is married to his amazing wife, and together they have four energetic boys who keep life fun and adventurous. When he is not teaching, he can often be found coaching soccer or camping with his family. He loves Jesus Christ and desires for others to experience the life-changing power of His love and grace.
